Rick believes in the value of investing time in their community. He has been very active in the Roswell community.
Rick has invested countless hours in community service. He has served on the following Boards in Roswell: Roswell Chamber of Commerce, Roswell Crimestoppers, Leadership Roswell Alumni Association, Roswell YMCA, Roswell Sertoma Club, and as President of the Roswell Men's Church Basketball League. He has been an honorary member of the Roswell Legal Support Staff Association (the only attorney in Roswell that had this opportunity).
He has been active with the Leadership Roswell Program for nine years. He participated as a student in the1990-91 class and was elected class President by his 25 fellow students. He became the Executive Director of the program in 1992 and has served the program as a volunteer ED ever since. As ED, Rick gives the community well over two weeks of his time every year in an effort to train current and future leaders in Roswell and southeastern New Mexico. Rick teaches Sunday school and is active with the television ministry of his church.
Rick writes a weekly column for the Roswell Daily Record on personal growth and self improvement called "Just a Thought". It was started in May 2000 and is printed each Monday.
What is important in this world in not what we did yesterday but what we will accomplish tomorrow. Jackie Robinson has printed on his gravestone the words, "Our lives are not important except for the impact we have on others". Rick firmly believes that is important to improve the lives of others in all that we do each day.
